Who is eligable for treatment?

A wide range of psychological disorders is treated by the therapists of the Psychotherapeutic University Ambulance of the University of Siegen, for example:

• Depression and bipolar disorders
• Anxieties, e.g. panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, social phobia, specific phobias, test anxietie
• Obsessive-compulsive disorders
• Personality disorders
• Acute strain and post-traumatic stress disorders
• Eating disorders
• Somatoform disorders
• Adaptation disorders
• Sexual Disorders
• Disorders of impulse control

Psychological disorders that need inpatient or semi-inpatient (day clinic) treatment cannot be treated in the Psychotherapeutic University Ambulance.
Our offer is aimed at adults, children, and adolecents.

Our range of treatments

The Psychotherapeutic University Ambulance of the University of Siegen offers various psychotherapeutic services.

1. We offer detailed clinical-psychological diagnostics, as well as clarification of individual need for treatment, and corresponding recommendations for treatment. Depending on your needs, we support you in finding further treatment or offer you a short-term psychotherapeutic intervention.
2. Furthermore, the Psychotherapeutic University Ambulance offers ambulatory psychotherapy as individual therapy and/or group therapy. You can find out more about the differences between the two settings as well as the therapy methods offered under the corresponding menu items.
3. As a university and research ambulance, we are also interested in continuous improvement of existing therapeutic procedures and the development of new approaches. In case, you meet the requirements of a clinical research project, you can volunteer as a participant. As a participant in one of our research projects you benefit from the latest developments in psychotherapy and actively participate in improving the treatment of mental illness and diseases.
